Senator Niello responds to the 2026-27 Fiscal Outlook

Senator Roger Niello (R-Fair Oaks), the Senate Budget Committee Vice Chair, issued a statement after the Legislative Analyst's Office (LAO) released The 2026-27 Budget: California’s Fiscal Outlook today:

"This is good news and worse news. Yes, the revenues are up, but the state's spending is even higher.

"The state's structural deficit continues to grow because of the majority party's unstoppable spending problems. The state must assess the effectiveness and sustainability of the programs that were created during the surplus and make necessary corrections."
