A Placer County Superior Court judge has granted a Sexually Violent Predator, William Stephenson, conditional transient release into Placer County. Stephenson was sentenced to 30 years in state prison for his crimes related to sexual violence. After being conditionally released in 2014, Stephenson bypassed electronic monitoring and was arrested for possessing child pornography. Transient release means that Stephenson will be released to a trailer or RV at a location that has yet to be determined. He will not be released directly on the streets and the Department of State Hospitals is required to provide 24-hour monitoring.
Your safety is my top priority, and I will continue to raise awareness of this dangerous predator. Assemblyman Joe Patterson and I sent a letter to Placer County Superior Court Judge Garen Horst. Join me in voicing your opposition by sending a letter via the Placer County District Attorney’s Office portal for residents: https://www.placer.ca.gov/9207/SVP-transient-release.
