Jesuit High School Cross Country Team and Coach Walt Lange

It was my honor to welcome the Jesuit High School Cross Country team athletes and their coaches to the Senate floor to celebrate their remarkable achievements. The Jesuit Cross Country team clinched the state championship and capped off their season as the 11th best team in the nation in 2024.

This incredible success is a testament to the dedication and passion of these student athletes and their extraordinary coaches, including the legendary Walt Lange, who received the Joe Newton Coach of the Year award for his unparalleled contributions to high school cross country and the many lives he has inspired since he began coaching in 1970.
