California Marks 100 Days of Progress Since Prop 36 Passage

On April 2, 2025, a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers, district attorneys, sheriffs, business and community leaders gathered in Sacramento to commemorate 100 days of real progress since voters overwhelmingly passed Proposition 36—a landmark public safety measure that was supported in all 58 counties. Just three months into implementation, early data show that Prop 36 is already delivering results. “With nearly 70% of voters in support, Prop 36 isn’t just popular but also good policy, said Senator Roger Niello (R-Fair Oaks). “My fellow legislators and the Governor must fully fund the needs of Prop 36 to equip local governments and law enforcement to implement it as intended.”
