On Wednesday, the governor is scheduled to unveil his 2024-2025 budget proposal. With a $68 billion budget deficit, Vice Chair of the Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee, Senator Roger Niello (R-Fair Oaks) offered a video statement where he called for the governor and Democratic legislators to address the state’s worsening financial condition.
Some excerpts from his video statement include:
… “One thing is certain, when faced with a deficit, the sooner the problem is addressed, the less pain it will cause. That’s why we’ve [Senate Republicans] sent a letter to the governor urging proactive measures to address the state’s worsening financial condition. …
“This state’s fiscal recovery demands immediate, disciplined action. Californians deserve nothing less.”
